Release of the Earthworks Seismic Inversion v2.0 Petrel* plug-in software

Stavanger, Norway (September 1, 2011) – Blueback Reservoir, a fast growing technology company specializing in providing Ocean* plug-ins and 3D geomodeling services for the global oil & gas exploration and production industry, today announced the release of version 2.0 of the Earthworks Seismic Inversion plug-in software for Petrel*.

The Earthworks Seismic Inversion (ESI) plug-in for Petrel is an ultra-fast full-featured seismic inversion software that enables effective use of acoustic impedance data in your reservoir modeling workflow. The plug-in is a fully integrated part of Petrel and uses Petrel native data objects – making advanced seismic inversion accessible and usable to the Petrel user community.

The main focus of the ESI v2.0 release is on inversion results analysis and QC through a suite of new tools. Through these tools you can rank your realizations and improve your understanding of the acoustic impedance result data. 

With Petrel style functionality for connectivity analysis, seismic correlation, net-to-gross estimation, the Petrel user can now execute complete inversion workflows, built around the ultra-fast seismic inversion technology from Earthworks. Through the new option for using multiple threads in the inversion runs, seismic inversion is truly becoming an interactive tool for geoscientists.
