Blueback Reservoir opens a new regional office in the United Arab Emirates

Stavanger, 16 February 2012 – Blueback Reservoir is proud to announce the opening of our new office serving the Middle East, India and North Africa region. The office is located at Al Thuraya Tower 1 in Dubai Internet City, and is offering the full range of Blueback Reservoir products and services.

The new office is a key step in our company development strategy and is a response to a strong interest in our products and services within reservoir modeling, software development and plug-in products for Petrel* software in this region.

Our products and services will be presented and demonstrated at the GEO 2012 conference and exhibition in Bahrain, 5. – 7. March at booth # 174, Hall 1.

Mr. Lanre Abidoye has joined Blueback-Reservoir Ltd as a Reservoir Geologist and will be based in the London office. Mr. Abidoye has 6 years industry experience having previously worked for both Ikon Science and Roxar in the UK. He arrives with a consulting background having carried out short to long term projects for clients in the UK, Europe, North Africa and the Middle East. Mr. Abidoye holds an MSc in Petroleum Geoscience from the University of London, Royal Holloway College.

The Bridge Electromagnetics v5 was released in November 2011. It included a series of upgrades of the various modules. Now we have installers supporting the Petrel 2011 versions ready and they can be downloaded at the Schlumberger Ocean Store.

Note that the Bridge Core module is a free viewer where you can load and visualize your EM data. Bridge visualization, together with a range of Petrel display techniques, gives you a powerful tool for understanding your data. With the subscription license model on the Schlumberger Ocean Store you have the flexibility to select the length of the subscription period to match your project needs.

Mr. Ed Fuss joined Blueback Reservoir in January 2011 as a Senior Software Engineer for the Houston office. Ed previously worked for Schlumberger/GeoQuest for 13+ years and more recently the last 15 years with Cimarron Software, a NASA sub-contractor. Ed holds a BS in Computer Science from the University of Houston.

With global growth in the use of the Schlumberger’s Petrel* seismic to simulation software over the last 10 years there has also been a growth in associated data management challenges.

With Petrel projects scattered around company networks, data managers face a real challenge monitoring and safeguarding this valuable data.

This webinar will provide an overview of the real challenges faced by those trying to manage these Petrel project networks. Blueback Reservoir is proud to invite you to the first Blueback Project Tracker User Meeting taking place 22. - 23. May 2012 in Oslo, Norway. Since its first release in February 2011, the Project Tracker has been well received and is now in use in over 50 oil companies worldwide. With 2 new releases scheduled for 2012, we are happy to present an agenda with a good mixture of presentations from some of our users (ConocoPhillips, RWE Dea, Maersk, Envision), in addition to development plans and workshops.

The event is a good opportunity for sharing your technical experiences, knowledge and results with other Project Tracker users and our Blueback development team. The User Meeting is not only for the users, but also for anyone interested in finding out more about the product and how it is used.

The user meeting will start Monday 21. May with an Ice Breaker reception at Hotel Bristol from 20:00 - 22:00. On Tuesday 22. May registration will take place from 09:00, and the User Meeting will finish on the 23. May with a lunch. Detailed agenda will be available soon.
